    About Merge PDF

    The PDF merge tool joins several PDF files into one document. You decide the order by dragging the files in the list, and the merged file follows that order exactly. Each source file keeps its own page size, orientation and content, so you can combine an A4 report with a landscape scan without anything being stretched or cropped.

    How to use it

    1. Select two or more PDF files, or drag them all onto the upload box at once.
    2. Drag files up or down to set the order you want. Remove any file with the × button, or press Add more files to include another one.
    3. Press Merge PDF files.
    4. Download the combined document.

    Good to know

    • Up to 20 files can be merged in one go.
    • The page order inside each file is preserved; only the file order is yours to choose.
    • Mixed page sizes are fine - nothing is resized or re-scaled.
    • Password protected files must have their password removed before merging.

    Your files and your privacy

    Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection, stored under a random name that cannot be guessed, and processed on the server. Nothing is shared with anyone, nothing is indexed, and every uploaded and generated file is deleted automatically after 30 minutes. You can read the full file deletion policy and our privacy policy.

    Frequently asked questions

    How do I change the order of the files?
    Drag a file by the handle on its left and drop it where you want it. The position number under each filename updates as you go, and the merged PDF uses that order.
    Can I merge files of different page sizes?
    Yes. Every page keeps its own dimensions and rotation, so an A4 document merged with A5 pages produces a PDF that simply contains both sizes.
    Is there a limit on the number of pages?
    The merged document can contain up to 5,000 pages, which is far beyond normal use.
    Will bookmarks and form fields survive the merge?
    Page content, images, links and annotations are carried over. A combined outline (bookmark tree) is not rebuilt, because bookmarks from different documents would point at conflicting destinations.
    Are my files private?
    Yes. They are processed on the server and then deleted automatically, and they are never shared with anyone.
