About PDF to Word

This converter turns a PDF into an editable Word document. It reads the real text of the document rather than taking a picture of it, rebuilds paragraphs by joining the lines that belong together, recognises headings, and turns aligned columns back into proper Word tables. Each PDF page becomes a page in the Word document, so the structure stays familiar.

How to use it

1. Upload the PDF you want to edit.
2. Press Convert to Word and wait for the progress bar to finish.
3. Download the .docx file and open it in your word processor.
4. Edit freely - all the text is real, selectable and editable text.

Supported formats and limits

Good to know

• Text, paragraph flow, headings and simple tables are preserved.
• Complex page layouts (multi-column magazines, heavy graphic design) are simplified into a clean, readable flow rather than reproduced pixel for pixel.
• A scanned PDF contains pictures of text, not text, so there is nothing to extract. The tool tells you clearly when that is the case instead of producing an empty file.
• Password protected PDFs must be unlocked before uploading.

Your files and your privacy

Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection, stored under a random name that cannot be guessed, and processed on the server. Nothing is shared with anyone, nothing is indexed, and every uploaded and generated file is deleted automatically after 30 minutes. You can read the full file deletion policy and our privacy policy.
